Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does your Ethiopian Sauce stay fresh?

At Tapu, we prioritize freshness and quality. Our Ethiopian Sauces are defrosted for a maximum of 3 months after production, following strict guidelines set by the Ethiopian Medical Authority. This ensures the delicious flavors and safety of our sauces.

3. What kind of ingredients do you use at Tapu? Fresh, Local, and Authentic:
  • Butter: We source our butter from local farmers' cooperatives, ensuring a commitment to both quality and supporting our community.
  • Oil: We use non-acidic and non-coagulating sunflower oil from reputable factories. This guarantees a healthy and consistent cooking experience.
  • Spices: Tapu takes pride in using only the finest, home-grown Ethiopian spices. Our berberë (pepper) and other spices are meticulously prepared in our Balténa department to deliver the authentic taste of Ethiopian tradition. We never use oils that solidify at room temperature.
4. How do you transport your prepared foods, injera and Baltëna products to the international markets?
We transport our prepared foods (Doro Wot, Siga Wot, Minchetabish, and Fasting Foods) and baltëna products (Injera, Shiro, Berbere, and many more) to international markets by direct order using our web link.
